About the Position

The Non-invasive cardiologist will be part of the Audie L. Murphy Heart Center, an interdisciplinary treatment team including interventional cardiologists, invasive, non-interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and a heart failure specialist. Additionally, this provider will work with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, PharmD providers, and case managers in both the outpatient and inpatient setting. The provider's duties will include staffing trans-esophageal echocardiograms, reading and teaching of transthoracic echocardiograms and nuclear studies. These duties will require supervision and working alongside general cardiology fellows and internal medicine residents and trainees from other specialties. The provider will also be expected to maintain weekly continuity clinic and staff the inpatient CCU, and cardiology consult services based upon the needs of the Heart Center.

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical practice as a non-invasive cardiologist
  • Board certification/equivalent competency in adult cardiovascular disease and echocardiography". "Board certification/equivalent competency or working understanding in the interpretation of nuclear medicine studies and cardiac CT angiography.
  • Willingness to work with and teach cardiology fellows and categorical and preliminary internal medicine residents, medical students.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record, preferably CPRS
  • Interest in both inpatient and outpatient cardiology
  • Ability to function in a multidisciplinary team including advanced practice practitioners (NP, PA); pharmacy providers, nursing and social work/case managers.
  • Valid/Unrestricted State Medical License.
